THE OYA CENTER

WHO WE ARE

The OYA Center was created to provide Black girls and women with opportunities to broaden their exposure to new communities and rich personal development opportunities. We are writers, scholars, educators, doers, builders, and healers, and we offer a space for us to just be...us.

#BLACKTEATALKS

#BlackTeaTalks is for women of power and purpose. This forum provides a space for women who are making a difference to dialogue and to share research and data to further advance their work. Want to know more? Send us a note here.

CAPITAL CIVICS

We provide community-based civic education training, in partnership with the GrassROOTS Community Foundation, focused on developing a baseline foundation for how civic and political processes actually work. Civics in Color, our premier civics education course, addresses the social and political implications of civic and political action for women and girls of color and the communities they serve.

Check out prior courses here and here.
